About The Company

In 1969, Engineer Mel A. Santander created Simex International, an enterprise which he used for his export and import ventures. One of the pioneers in exporting Philippine goods to the USA, its first export transaction was the shipment of 10 boxes of fresh milkfish to an importer in San Francisco, California.

The Santander Family then eventually changed the company name to “GLEAMS” and started producing and exporting blends of preserved products for Halo-Halo.

In 1996, the company leased and renovated a warehouse in Cabuyao, Laguna, Philippines that presently employs 150 personnel. In the same year, Manny Santander started a partnership with Norio Tanaka and the appellation of the company was changed to “Y.E.S. Export and Import Corporation” which used to stand for “Ying, Escarcha, Santander” and added Lumpia Wrapper and canned Coconut Cream to its product lines, which became instant success to the U.S. along with other Filipino products that we have continued to produce for more than 25 years.

After so many years of partnership, Manny Santander decided to retire on October 2014 and a year thereafter the company has been under the full ownership of Norio Tanaka and family under a new management.

Currently with a new management, our name “Y.E.S.” now stands for “Your Ethnic Food Solutions” and we are committed to providing our customers & clients the safest, highest-quality food products & services.
